 Fat Olive is Rich Sanna (Vocals), Paul Brown (Lead Guitar) Steve Ashcroft (Bass) and Colin Bennett (Drums) and despite the daft name here is a band that I could get behind and actually enjoy listening to and actively telling other people about. I'd not be ashamed to mention them in conversation. Yes, they've got a very silly name but their music sounds as though they know how to play instruments and as though it has been produced by someone that actually knew what they were doing.
Fat Olive is a four piece band based in St Helen's Merseyside - where let's be honest all the best music comes from anyway. They are about to embark on a nationwide tour beginning in early 2010 and this is their new double a-side single featuring the track Vaquero and Awake.
Fat Olive has power in their music and sound like a band that's been playing together for a while. They're pretty tight in terms of musical ability. Engaging melodies and energy make them a sure fire hit, across the North West of England at the very least.
Influenced by the likes of Coldplay, Kings of Leon and Radiohead if you hear them you might be surprised to hear that they are currently unsigned. Don't expect them to remain this way, they're chasing a deal with Sony and don't be surprised if you see Fat Olive near you sometime soon.
