ImageFor many years there was only one name on everyone's lips when it came to original and creative comedy.  With award winning series for both the BBC (Cool It) and ITV (Cool Head), Phil Cool and his legendary rubber face was the toast of television.

Today's top comics remember Cool It and Cool Head as series that changed their own lives.

Alistair McGowan says that it was Phil who "most inspired me to do impressions" while Jon Culshaw recollects that "Cool It was unmissable. On so many occasions Phil was the reason I missed doing my A level homework."

Now, after forty years in the comedy business, Phil has decided to tour for one last time before riding off into the sunset.

And we're delighted to announce that Phil is visiting the Parish Hall, Barnard Castle, for the first and last time on Saturday 27 April.

Never again will the master of Faceology be seen in front of a live audience.
Funny Way To Be Comedy Club organiser Peter Dixon said: "We are thrilled to be bringing Phil Cool to Teesdale as part of his Final Curtain Tour.

"Most of the other dates [on the tour] are theatres he performed at earlier in his career, so it's extra special that he was able to include us in the itinerary."
Peter added: "Our aim has always been to bring top quality comedians to our rural venue.

"We have always tried to vary the type of shows we put on to make sure that throughout a season we have something for everyone."

The show starts at 8.00pm. Doors are 7.30pm.  There is a bar.

Tickets for all Funny Way To Be shows are available online here, at the Information Point at Woodleigh and the Old Well Inn in Barnard Castle.  More information is available on 01833 650930.
